Problem
Cause/Resolution
You see the following message:
Windows was unable to save all the data
for the file
\Device\HarddiskVolume6\$Mft. The
data has been lost. This error may be
caused by a failure of your computer
hardware or network connection.
Please
try
to
save
this
file
elsewhere.
There are two conditions that can cause this error:
1. You have unplugged the USB hard drive without
ejecting the USB connection from the system
tray.
2. The USB driver failed to respond and Windows
removed the USB hard drive from the system.
You should not unplug the USB hard drive without
properly ejecting the USB connection from the
system.
