3.2 Getting started
3.2.1 Insert and Remove the BP
The Awake RÄVIK features a removable BP,
which must be removed for charging. The
design also allows for fast BP swapping
while on the go if you own multiple BPs.
To install the BP into the board, first, check
that there are no foreign objects or dirt/
sand in both the BP and board connectors.
Ensure the board is laying securely on an
even surface and lift the BP using both
handles as shown.
Slide the front end of the BP into the
BP cavity in the board, resting the
BP retention notches underneath the
retention tabs.
The locking handle should be
perpendicular to the deck, locating the
slots onto the locking pins on the board.
Push the locking handle down towards
the board until BP is firmly secured, there
should be an audible “click”.
Always check that the BP is installed
securely by pulling on the handle before
riding.
3.2.2 Attaching the PKL
The Awake RÄVIK should only ever be
used with the PKL securely fitted to the
operator at all times. Care must be taken
to ensure that the leash is secured to the
body in a fashion in which it cannot be
easily detached, the leash must not be
attached to swimwear which can fall from
the user. The PKL must be safely secured
to the rider before attaching the PKL to
the board.
3.2.3 Activating the Board
To turn on the board and begin riding,
insert the PKL into either PKL receptacles
as shown.
The charge LEDs in the BP display will
illuminate indicating the charge level
of the BP. The connection LED will also
illuminate solid white, indicating that the
BP is ready to be connected to the HC. A
notification sound will also trigger from
the BP, confirming the BP is activated and
ready for operation.
The board must be reactivated every time
the PKL is disconnected from the BP
before riding again, (for example, when
you fall off the board).
