Connecting FRITZ!Box Fon to the LAN Port

FRITZ!Box Fon – 2 Starting FRITZ!Box Fon Operation

Please note:

z

If you would like to connect FRITZ!Box Fon to your com-
puter by means of the LAN port, first make sure that
your computer is equipped with a LAN port. A LAN port
is  usually  designated  by  the  icon  at  left  or  labeled
“LAN”.

If your computer is not equipped with a LAN port, con-
nect FRITZ!Box Fon using the USB port. If you would like
to connect FRITZ!Box Fon to your computer with a Win-
dows operating system using a USB cable, you must in-
stall the driver software from the FRITZ!Box Fon CD on
the computer.

An operating system version of 10.3.3 or higher is
required to connect FRITZ!Box Fon to the USB port of an
Apple Macintosh computer. If your Apple Macintosh
computer works with an older version, connect
FRITZ!Box Fon via the LAN port of your computer.

2.7 Connecting FRITZ!Box Fon to the LAN 

Port

Using a LAN cable, FRITZ!Box Fon can be connected to the
computer in just a few steps. If you would like to connect a
network to FRITZ!Box Fon in order to connect several comput-
ers with DSL, then connect FRITZ!Box Fon to a network hub or
switch using the LAN cable.

Connection via the LAN port is identical for all operating sys-
tems. All computers connected via the LAN port must be
equipped with a network adapter (Ethernet card).
