Chapter 6

Avaya CLI - EZ2route

This chapter provides all the EZ2route CLI commands, parameters and their default
values.

Configuration Guidelines

In EZ2route mode, the P333R learns the network dynamically, and therefore
eliminates the need for configuration. However there are special cases where
minimal configuration is needed.

Networking Issues

Connecting routers

When A P333R device is in EZ2route mode, other routers MUST NOT be
connected to the P333R using shared media/repeaters. They must be connected
via switch ports.

Silent routers.

EZ2route technology is based on dynamic learning of routers by listening to
common routing protocols.
There may be cases in which some of the routers in the network are statically
configured, or using unfamiliar routing protocols. In such cases, the P333R will
not recognize the router, and thus will not perform 3rd layer switching for
stations using that router. To solve this problem, configure the router statically
(using CLI or Avaya P330 routing manager). Refer to .

Boosting only part of the routers.

In some cases, network manages may want the P333R in EZ2route mode to
perform 3rd layer switching only for stations using some routers, but not for
other routers. Since EZ2route learns automatically ALL the routers in the
network it is needed in such case to turn off the automatic learning of the
EZ2route and then configure specifically only the routers that the EZ2route
need to know about. Refer to

Behavior in networks implementing access c QoS.

In EZ2route mode, the P333R performs routing according to the configured
policy rules. In some cases other routers in the network may use policy rules
that cannot be configured for the P333R. Under these conditions, you should
configure the EZ2route to prevent third layer switching of traffic that should
follow the unsupported rules. Refer to the
