Inserting the batteries
Insert the batteries in the open bat-
tery compartment. Only use batteries
of the type AAA Ni-MH 1.2 V. Pay at-
tention to correct polarity. Close the
battery compartment.
Charging the batteries
Before the handset is used for the first time, insert it in the base station/ for at
least 16 hours. When the handset is inserted in the base station properly, you will
hear a confirmation signal. The handset warms up during the charging process.
This is normal and does not represent a risk. Do not charge the handset with
charging units from other manufacturers.
The current
battery charge status
is indicated in the display:
Full
Half empty
Weak
Empty
Setting the time and date on the handset
The time and date are set via the menu. Refer to Page 69 for the sequence of
option selections.
Private branch exchanges
The information on Page 64 explains how to install your telephone in a private
branch exchange.
Setting the weekday and time on the answering machine
The weekday and time are set automatically on the answering machine via the
handset.
