Preparing the Microsoft Lync Environment for IP
Phones

Before plugging in and playing the IP phones in an enterprise's Microsoft Lync
environment, make sure that the environment is ready for them.

To prepare it for IP phones, you must set up:

Front End Lync Server

Domain Controller, including:

Active Directory, LDAP service

DNS service

DHCP service

NTP service (optional)

Unified Messaging Server (optional)

Mediant

™

Gateway

SBA Server (optional)
