3.7 Configuring Date and Time
Generally, a phone retrieves the date and time from a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server when
it connects to the Internet. Alternatively, the date and time can be configured manually. NTP is a
protocol for distributing the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) by means of synchronizing the
clocks of computer systems over packet-switched, variable-latency data networks. This
configuration is done in the
Advanced Applications menu.

To define the date and time:
1. Access the ‘Date and Time’ page ( Configuration tab > Advanced Applications menu >
Date and Time ).

2. Configure the date and time according to the parameters in the table below, and then click
Submit .
