Resetting the Handset or the Base
If you reset the handset or the base, all the user selectable features restore
to the factory preset initial settings: When resetting the handset, the
phonebook, incoming/outgoing list and SMS outbox messages will be
erased. Resetting the base can only delete the inbox messages. The Flash
time and the SMS Service Center number can not be reset.
You can reset the handset without resetting the base or vice versa, it
depends on the scope you have. It is mainly useful for these purposes:
If you have made many wrong settings and you want to restore the
handset to the factory preset initial settings.
If the phone shows logical malfunctions (not correct symbols on the
display, incorrect behavior etc.), the problem can be caused by an AC
power supply noise or an electrostatic spike which can temporarily alter
the memory of the internal microprocessor. In this case the reset could
solve the problem.
