uct cease to be legible or become detached, replace with-
out delay.
• The product must only be installed, operated and ser-
viced by qualified personnel in an industrial environ-
ment.
Intended Use
This product is designed for suspending equipment, within
the specified range of lifting capacity. No other use permit-
ted. For professional use only.
Product Specific Instructions
A) Installation
1.
Attach the load.
2.
Turn the hand wheel counterclockwise to adjust the
length (L).
3.
Make sure that the length (L) is correct.
4.
Loosen and adjust the cable clamp and cable stop buf-
fer.
5.
Fasten the cable clamp and cable stop buffer.
6.
Turn the hand wheel clockwise approximately 4 turns
to adjust the tension.
General Installation Safety
Safety Chain Installation
Attach a safety chain between the balancer and the suspen-
sion to prevent it from falling down because of the weight of
the tool.
• The safety chain should be as short as possible.
• The ends of the safety chain
must not
have the same at-
tachment points as the main suspension.
Tension Adjustment of Wire
WARNING Risk of Injury
It is of high importance that the wire retracts in a slow,
smooth motion. A too rapid retraction will make the
wire lash, which might cause the wire to break, with
property damage and/or bodily injury as a result.
•
To increase tension:
Turn the knob counter clockwise
(+) until the wire has the resistance wanted and the tool
moves slowly up and down.
•
To decrease tension:
Push the lock spring (plastic loop)
to the right. If a tool is attached to the wire, make sure to
hold the tool to avoid it from falling at high speed.
Do not turn the knob manually to decrease tension. This will
force the lock spring out of its retaining pocket, allowing the
motor spring to unwind rapidly and out of control.
General Operation Safety
If you let go of the wire end while retracting it, the wire will
fly rapidly and out of control resulting in wear on the wire
causing it to break. Never let the wire go while retracting it.
Always guide the wire end to the reel until it stops.
B) Safety chain attachment
Always attach the safety chain to the correct attachment.
General Service and Maintenance Safety
• The suspension, the safety chain attachment and the
safety chain must be examined regularly. If damage or
wear is found, stop using the balancer at once.
General safety instructions
Installation hazards
• Do not attach a tool cable or any accessory to the bal-
ancer wire.
• Make sure the balancer suspension method and supports
have a minimum safety factor of five times the combined
maximum load capacity plus balancer weight.
• Attach an additional support cable or chain to a support
independent of the one holding the balancer.
• Examine the suspension hooks, cable and chain for wear.
Replace any worn parts before installation.
Operating Hazards
• Do not exceed the recommended load capacity range.
• Examine suspension hooks, cables, cable stops and
chains daily for wear. Replace worn parts before further
use.
• Never lift people or lift loads over people.
• Never use the balancer cable or chain as a sling and do
not attach any accessory or secondary cable to it; it must
remain free to move as intended.
• Load chain must not be twisted, kinked or damaged
when lifting a load.
• Centre balancer over load before lifting.
• Operators must be physically able to manoeuvre the bal-
ancer.
Repetitive motion hazards
• When using a power tool to perform work-related activi-
ties, the operator might experience discomfort in the
hands, arms, shoulders, neck, or other parts of the body.
• Adopt a comfortable posture whilst maintaining secure
footing and avoiding awkward or off-balance postures.
Changing posture during extended tasks can help avoid
discomfort and fatigue.
• Do not ignore symptoms such as persistent or recurring
discomfort, pain, throbbing, aching, tingling, numbness,
burning sensation, or stiffness. Stop using the tool, tell
your employer and consult a physician.
