BIOS Updating Utility

BIOS Flashing

The Notebook PC features with a Flash ROM for BIOS. The latest version BIOS release (file name is
like DATECODE.rom) can be written into by executing the utility-”phlash.exe” which is included in
the bundled Driver & Utility CD-ROM.

1. Boot the system with a floppy diskette with DOS or Windows 95 booting system.
2. Locate the “phlash” sub-directory of the Driver & Utility CD-ROM after DOS prompt.
3. Check the new version BIOS release file : DATECODE.rom, e.g. 980101.rom.
4. Run the “phlash 980101.rom”.
5. Instructions covering installation will be displayed. Follow the instructions to finish and

reboot your system.

Battery Discharge Utility

The bundled utility to provide you to reduce the “ Memory Effect ” or officially called “ Voltage
Depressor ” when using optional NiMH battery packs. Please follow the instructions listed below to
discharge the inserted battery pack.

1. Boot the system with a floppy diskette with DOS or Windows 95 booting system.
2. Locate the “ battery ” sub-directory of the Driver & Utility CD-ROM after DOS prompt.
3. Run the “ batfresh.exe ”
4. Instructions will be displayed. Follow the instructions to start discharging.
