Monitoring Machine the While
Grinding
At the control panel, monitor the machine systems
while material is being processed.
❏
Check engine conditions under load and without a
load.
❏
Check temperature, pressure, and level of the
hydraulic oil at the main tank.
Normal operating temperature range of the hydrau-
lic oil is 140°–180° F (60°–82° C). If hydraulic oil
temperature reaches 190° F (88° C) or above, shut
down and determine the cause before continuing to
run.
❏
Check for too much material spilling off the con-
veyor.
❏
Check for vibration and noise.
If any of these checks appear to be abnormal, shut down
and correct the situation. Consult your
6700B Mainte-
nance Manual
for system care and for periodic checks.

1. Check the Feed Chain Link Pins
Inspect the link pin heads. Link pin heads can wear
against compacted material on the inside walls of
the hopper.
2. Check the Feed Chain Alignment
Make sure the feed chains are aligned on the tail
pulley flanges.
3. Check the Hopper Walls
. Check the hopper walls
