at risk while you start the engine.
Important
The suction valves located underneath the hydrau-

OTE
:
It is not necessary to manually increase engine
speed at this time. The engine regulates it own speed.
Allow the engine to idle until the coolant temperature
starts to rise. This takes 3 to 5 minutes, or more when the
outside temperature is below 0° F (–18° C).
Coolant temperature can be monitored on the display
screen Engine Information Page.
If the engine fails to start in colder weather, make
sure that the ether canister is not empty. To check,
unscrew and shake the canister.
N
OTE
:
If the engine has been run out of fuel, you will
need to prime the fuel system using the pump located on
the secondary fuel filter. It may take 20 to 70 strokes of
the pump handle.
9.
After the engine starts, review the display screen for
possible errors. Note the condition of the machine,
by checking the Engine Page, Hydraulic System
Page, Feed System Page, and others as necessary.
For an explanation of the display screen pages, see
“Displaying Machine Information” on page 87.
Check all gauges during warm-up.
