Input
E1
– External release
A release button (or other potential-free tripping contact) can be connected to the output (“DIP switch”,
page 42). The tripping contact activates different processes depending on the Hi-O
Technology™ de-
vices connected:
· a motorised lock retracts the deadbolt(s),
· a coupling lock engages the outer door handle,
· An electricstrike is unlocked.
Note!
Central locking or fire alarm prevent an external release:
If the door was locked centrally or a fire alarm
is activated, the door cannot be unlocked via the
external release
input. The
external release
only takes ef-
fect once the central locking and fire alarm have been withdrawn.

At tention!
Relay
R7
can only be switched when the input is closed:
An additional potential-free door contact (such
as a reed contact), which queries the door position, can be connected to the input.
Relay
R7
door closed
can only be switched when the
external door contact
input is closed.
· Close the input with a jumper if an external door contact is not connected.
If an additional external door contact is connected, the lock’s internal door contact will remain active. This
means that: with these locks, both door contacts must be closed so that the door status
closed
is recog-
nised and relay
R7
is switched to
door closed
.
Input
E3
– Central locking
The tripping contact of a central locking system can be connected to the input.
The tripping contact activates different processes depending on the Hi-O
Technology™ devices con-
nected:
· an unlocked motorised lock is locked as soon as the door is closed,
· a coupling lock disengages the outer door handle,
· an electricstrike is locked.
In the case of central locking, local unlocking will be blocked by the
external release
input until the central
locking has been withdrawn („Input
E1
– External release“).
Input
B
– Fire alarm system
If a fire alarm system is connected (“DIP switch”, page 42), this input will have to be under power
(“Technical specifications”, page 53). If there is no electrical power, it means that:
· the fire alarm system is reporting an alarm or fault, such as a line breakage or short circuit in the line to
the fire alarm system,
· central locking is activated,
· relay
R1
–
fire alarm system
is deactivated when a motorised lock is connected.
