Recommended Installation Procedure
For Voice Alarm or any safety application if fireproof interlinking cables are not used, then the DAX must
be positioned as described in Section “
3 DAX and DAU Positioning
” (page
19
).
Please read and observe the instructions and guidelines in Section “
6 Safety and Precautions
” (page
25
)
prior to installation. Failure to follow these instructions and guidelines may cause personal injury and/or
damage to the equipment.

Pictures in the following procedure show the DAX200 200 W Expansion Amplifier Unit as standard.
The DAX400 400 W Expansion Amplifier Unit has similar components in the same positions. Pictures of
the DAU400 are also included when required for clarity.
1.
Unlock and open the unit’s door.
2.
Disconnect the earth strap connecting the
electronics module to the back box; see
Figure 2
.

3.
Remove the two transit brackets by undoing
the top two M8 securing nuts; see
Figure 3
.
Re-fit the securing nuts after removing the
transit brackets.

DAX400 brackets have a different format,
but are fixed by securing nuts at similar
position.
