4-2 Time Synchronization between AXM57104 devices 

 
If you already know how install Ptp4l by previous chapter. Here we try to setup two AXM57104 devices on two 
PCs.  Let  them  do  time  synchronization  through  Ptp4l  and  observe  PPS  signal  through  Scope  for  confirm 
synchronization. 
 
We prepare two PCs as below figure, 

“SWITCH 1” setup on “

PC1

” and “SWITCH 2” on “

PC2

”. 

The AXM57104 MAC of PC1 = 00:0E:C6:00:39:0A 
The AXM57104 MAC of PC2 = 00:0E:C6:00:39:05 
We connect them by port0.

If the Ptp4l service is in running, we suggest to stop the Ptp4l service and execute Ptp4l program manually for 
observe detail port status conveniently. 

 

# systemctl stop gPTP 

 

Come back to AXM57104 BSP working directory, enter the folder of Ptp4l package and execute Ptp4l 
program manually in PC1 and PC2. 

 

# ./ptp4l
