Maintenance

Troubleshooting and Service

Operation

Model 950 requires minimal maintenance. We recommend periodic 

inspection of fuses during any scheduled shutdown periods. Keep the SPD 

free of dirt and debris.

The ASCO 950 surge protector has little to troubleshoot. Only a 

nonfunctional SPD will open the fuses. Opened fuses should be replaced 

with the same make, model and amperage. Do not replace with fuses 

under 15A, due to the  possibility of inadvertent nuisance tripping. Do NOT 

replace opened fuses with ones rated 200A and higher as this will not 

properly disconnect the SPD from the electrical system. If a fuse is opened 

or a service condition is believed to exist please contact ASCO Power 

Technologies.

Model 950 does not have operational indicators. When an upstream 

overcurrent protection fuse within the fuse box opens, the SPD should be 

evaluated for proper operation.
