Standard urinals that are used with mains water supply must use a recommended DC pipe Interrupter
in accordance with EN 1717 up to category 5 for back-siphonage between solenoid valve and spreader
as shown. Follow the DC interrupter installation guide for installation

Installation requirements
for DC pipe interrupters
• It is the installers responsibility
to select and install a DC pipe
interrupter as required by water
quality regulators specification
and ensure it is under normal
circumstance free from leakage.
• Ensure the DC pipe interrupter
is WRAS approved and meets
the requirements of EN 1717
and the following IRN’s should
be considered – IRN R001, IRN
R165*.
• Ensure there are no restrictions
(valves, flow regulators and obstruc
-
tions) between the DC pipe
interrupter and urinal spreader
as they will cause water discharge
form the DC interrupter.
• Please refer to the DC pipe inter-
rupter
instruction prior to install.
• Ensure to install the DC pipe
interrupter in correct orientation
