Removing the Sling
Follow these 6 steps
1.
Apply bed brakes and adjust the height of the bed
to an ergonomic position, if possible.
WARNING
To avoid the patient from falling, make sure
that the sling attachments are securely
attached before and during the lifting
process.
2. Log roll the patient. (Use local technique.) If log
roll is not possible, use an Arjo sliding sheet/tube to
remove the sling. See
MaxiSlides IFU.
3. Tuck the sling under the patient’s body.
(See Fig. 20 )
4.
Log roll the patient to the other side and remove
the sling.
5. Return the patient to his/her back.
6.
Make sure the patient is in a comfortable and
secure position in the bed.
and the patient lays fully supported and
comfortably in the
Repositioning Sling
• make sure the
Repositioning Sling
is not
attached to any other object than the spreader
bar.
• make sure that there is clearance to perform the
manoeuvre.
11.
If an adjustment/shifting of balance is needed:
1.
Lower the patient until he/she is supported by
the bed.
2.
Detach the straps and reattach to different hooks
(if 4-point spreader bar is used) or select different
loop lengths.
12. Continue to lift and transfer the patient a in
slow and steady movement to the receiving bed.

13. Lower the patient to the receiving bed.
14.
Before detaching the loops make sure that
(See Fig. 19 )
:
• the patient’s body weight is fully supported by
the bed
•
the straps are no longer in tension.
15.
WARNING
To avoid injury, make sure all loops are
detached from the hooks before removing
the lift.
Detach all loops and move the lift away from the
patient. Always hold the spreader bar when in
close proximity to the patient.
