DISCHARGE CHUTE
If Chute does not stay in position while
operating, tighten nut on carriage bolt at pivot
point to increase tension on spring (Figure 10).
If the deflector cap does not remain set in
position tighten nut on right side of cap until
proper drag is obtained.
SHEAR BOLTS
IMPORTANT:
Use only Ariens shear bolts for
replacement. Use of any other type of shear
bolt may result in severe damage to unit.
Occasionally a foreign object may enter the
auger/impeller housing and jam the auger,
breaking shear bolts (Figure 11) which secure
the auger to the shaft. This allows auger to
turn freely on the shaft preventing damage to
gear drive.
For Replacement:
1. Slide auger outward and align hole in
shaft with hole in auger.
2. Drive shear bolt through hole (if shear bolt
was broken this will drive remaining part
from shaft).
3. Secure shear bolt with nut.
