7. General hints
7.1.
Transportation
During the transportation of the instruments without the standard case attention should be paid the
screens. The screen protection foil can be damaged by sharp items.
MAKE SURE that no SHARP ITEMS have contact to the instruments during transportation to
avoid damages.
7.2.
Dirt and Dust
The Elastometers are not water or dust
– proof. Make sure that no water or dirt can get into the
instrument. Place all nails that you will need for the measuring into the tree prior to mounting the
Elastometers!
7.3.
Ambient conditions during pulling tests
Do not use the pulling test during or shortly after periods of frost.
The TreeQinetic components are not water proof. Drizzle rain for a couple of minutes will not cause
problems. However, rain should be avoided.
The Inclinometers do have a temperature drift. For best results expose the inclinometers to the
ambient temperature as soon as you arrive on the site. Use “set-to-zero” function before every pull!
