9. Remove the batteries
10.4 - Drive the wheelchair
Before seat on the wheelchair verify:
- The wheelchair is turned off
- The armrest and the footrest are correctly positioned
- The battery charger is unplugged from the wheelchair
When you seat on the wheelchair ensure the adjustement are suitable for your driving. In particulare
be sure the joystick do not strive your hand during the driving.
Start up:
- Set to LOW speed
- Gently push ON button
- Wait 2 seconds (this is automatically set up in order to prevent accidental start)
- Push the joystick ahead. The more you push the more the wheelchair accelerate.
To stop release the joystick
- To turn left or right gently push the joystick to the desired direction
- Pull backward for the reverse motion

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY RELEASE THE JOYSTICK TO STOP THE WHEELCHAIR
10.5 - Drive uphill
The international law fixes the safety gradient to drive an electric wheelchair without difficulties.
The slope is 6°/12%. The Moretti electric wheelchair can do up to the safety gradient. In case you are
driving on the maximum slope you need the maximum speed, so use the proper button to increase
the speed. Be careful in case of high slopes.
10.6 - Drive downhill
To proceed with caution in dangerous slopes use the proper button to decrease the speed, in order
to have the best control on the wheelchair. Anyway the electric wheelchair is provided with an auto-
matic braking system which operate whether you try to increase the speed. During the downhill we
recommend to drive carefully, and never stop the wheelchair in dangerous slopes.
