This thesis describes the Arctic Power
– Product documentation’s quality man-
agement document commissioned by Lapland University of Applied sciences’ re-
search, development and innovations unit, Arctic Power. The quality manage-
ment document were made to be u
sed in Arctic Power’s product development
processes. One of the goals was to shift
the Arctic Power’s documentation model
from the personal documentation to organization-wide practice of high quality
documentation.
The quality management document was made to follow the ICS 01.110 standard
group’s guidelines and some of its standards. Also the standards left ignored
were justified in the thesis. The thesis work also took influences from different
product lifecycle management software and author’s previous experiences with
automotive industry’s documentation schemes.
The first version of Arctic Power
– Product documentation’s quality management
document was released during the thesis work. Another part of the thesis work
was to introduce the Aras Innovator product lifecycle management environment
for the Arctic Power. The SofTech Solidworks Connector add-on was also in-
stalled for Solidworks CAD modeling integration. During the introduction the user
guide for the Aras Innovator and SofTech Solidworks Connector was made. A
continuous update procedure is needed to
maintain the practice’s usability in the
future.
