11. Using an impact driver, remove the Allen-head
screws securing the final drive carrier bearing hous-
ing (E); then remove the housing and account for two
alignment pins.

12. Remove the snap ring securing the oil pump driven
gear (A); then remove the gear noting the direction
of the sides of the gear for installing purposes.
Account for a pin and a washer.

13. Remove the cap screws securing the oil pump; then
remove the pump.

NOTE: Whenever a part is worn excessively,
cracked, damaged in any way, or out of tolerance,
replacement is necessary.
INSPECTING CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH
SHOE
1. Inspect the clutch shoes for uneven wear, chips,
cracks, or discoloration. If any shoe is damaged,
replace the complete set.
2. Inspect the clutch shoes for wear or damage. If any
shoe is worn to the bottom of the groove, replace the
complete set.
CAUTION
Always replace the clutch shoes as a complete set or
severe imbalance could occur.
