8. Turn the engine off. Check the oil level in the oil level inspection
window. The oil level should be between the low and high marks.
9. Inspect the area around the screen/filter cap for leaks.
Transmission Lubricant
Change the transmission lubricant at the scheduled intervals. The
transmission should always be warm when the lubricant is changed so
it will drain easily and completely.
1. Park the ATV on level ground.
2. Remove the fill plug. Be careful
not to allow contaminates to
enter the opening.
3. Remove the drain plug and
drain the lubricant into a drain
pan.
4. Install the drain plug and tighten
to 30 Nm.
5. Put 600ml at 250 2x4 or 400ml
at 250 DVX of recommended
lubricant into the fill plug hole;
then install the fill plug and
tighten securely.
6. Start the engine and drive the
ATV
to
warm
up
the
transmission; then check for any
leaks around the drain and fill
plugs.
Rear Drive Lubricant (2x4)
Change the rear drive lubricant at the scheduled intervals. The rear
drive should always be warm when the lubricant is changed so it will
drain easily and completely.
1. Park the ATV on level ground.
2. Remove the fill plug. Be careful
not to allow contaminates to
enter the opening.
3. Remove the drain plug and
drain the lubricant into a drain
pan.
4. Install the drain plug and tighten
to 20 Nm.
5. Put 150 ml (5 fl oz) of recommended lubricant into the fill plug
hole; then install the fill plug and tighten securely.
