5. Using rubber bands to support the connecting rods,
carefully install the crankshaft assembly into the
crankcase.

NOTE: It will be necessary to rotate the crankshaft
back and forth to engage the teeth of the oil pump
and countershaft gears.
6. Using an appropriate tool, remove and discard the
input shaft seal; then install the input shaft through the
case half.

7. Apply a generous amount of molybdenum grease to
the sholder of the shaft just past the splines.

8. Place a new seal on the input shaft by carefully sliding
it over the shoulder of the input shaft and pressing it
into the case half.

9. Install the gear shift shaft into the crankcase making
sure the flat washer is in place on the right case end
and the spacer on the gear shift stop end.
