The water purifi cation system J.SHMIDT 500 (hereinafter J.SHMIDT 500) is a portable active fi ltration system
that combines the characteristics of a high-quality stationary water purifi er and the portability of a fi lter jug.
In regular fi lter jugs gravity ensures the water fl ow through the fi lter. But gravity alone cannot create
suffi cient pressure to force water through the type of denser fi lter blocks needed for higher quality fi ltration.
Forcing water through dense fi lters requires the generation of additional pressure which most regular fi lters
lack. Therefore, before the introduction of the J.SHMIDT 500 portable active fi ltration system, regular water
purifi ers unconnected to water mains (such as fi lter jugs, faucet water fi lters, etc) were signifi cantly inferior
in terms of their quality of water purifi cation compared to stationary water purifi ers where fi ltration is forced
under pressure through denser fi lter blocks.
But now, thanks to Aquaphor’s use of Air Pressure Flow (APF) water supply technology, the portable
J.SHMIDT 500 system can generate the pressure required for high-quality water purifi cation. APF technol-
ogy makes it possible to use, inside the high density fi lter cartridge, a highly effi cient combination of the
fi bre absorber AQUALEN
TM
, fi ne activated charcoal powder (patents: EP2517787, CN105050682) and a mi-
cro-fi ltration hollow fi bre membrane of only 100 nano met res in size. Such a cartridge provides high quality
water purifi cation, eliminating chlorine and organic chlorine substances as well as heavy metals and iron. It
also ensures protection against the formation of scale while fully retaining bacteria* and cysts of intestinal
parasites without using chemical bactericides.

The APF water supply system makes it possible to use, inside a fi lter cartridge, a high-density mixture of
absorbers thereby allowing it to achieve the quality of water purifi cation with similar characteristics to
stationary systems but without any need for connection to a water main.
