The time required, to expel the standing column of water
in the submerged sample Intake Hose prior to the sample
shot being collected
The PRE PURGE time should be long enough to ensure
that water is expelled from the Intake Hose followed by
bubbles emitted from the end of the Intake Hose for
approximately 2 seconds

The time required, to expel the risen column of water from
the submerged sample Intake Hose. The POST PURGE
time should be long enough to ensure that water is
expelled from the Intake Hose followed by bubbles emitted

seconds

nominally identical sample is deposited into each bottle of
a group simultaneously* - Perhaps a bottle for each
interested party, or possibly a separate bottle for each
determinant (necessary where preservative dosing of the
sample is required for example)
