EBIS - 3000 & 4500 User's Manual
WARNING:
Before using EBIS, it is important to receive in-water training
which simulates proper use of this system. Use of the EBIS without proper
training is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death.
WARNING:
Visual inspection and factory prescribed service for the EBIS must be
performed annually by a factory trained service technician. Repair, service and
visual inspection must not be attempted by untrained or unqualified personnel.
WARNING:
DO NOT attempt to overfill the EBIS beyond its maximum
fill pressure at 70ºF/ 21ºC. Doing so may seriously weaken the safety
plug assembly and cylinder, resulting in serious injury or death.
WARNING:
The EBIS is designated compatible for use only with normal,
atmospheric, compressed air (21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen by volume).
DO NOT attempt to fill with other gases, including pure oxygen or air which
has been enriched with oxygen exceeding 21% in content. Failure to observe
this warning may result in serious injury or death due to fire and explosion
or the serious deterioration and failure of the equipment.
WARNING:
DO NOT fill or use the EBIS if it has been exposed to extreme
heat exceeding 250

C or open flame. Instead, discharge the cylinder
completely and return it to a factory trained service technician for inspection
and possible hydrostatic re-testing.
GENERAL PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS
WARNING:
DO NOT apply any type of aerosol spray to the EBIS. Doing
so may cause permanent damage to plastic components.
WARNING:
Before using the EBIS, you must have successfully received
training and certification in the technique of SCUBA diving from a Military
or government operated diving school (or any recognized certification
agency). Use of SCUBA equipment by uncertified or untrained persons
is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death.
WARNING:
Due to its limited air volume, EBIS is intended to be used for
making emergency ascents from a depth no greater than 45 ft / 13.5 m,
minor buoyancy adjustments or emergency flotation during maritime
diving or surface operations.
