4.7.1 RS-485 Communication

RS485 is the standard communication mode for the Smart MTL Series 3-phase Photovoltaic

Inverter and it can be used for a multi-point communication.

1. Strip the isolation layer of cable for about 5 mm long as shown in the diagram below.

Besides the standard RS485 communication mode, users have the option for the Ethernet

communication mode. The connection methods for the two communication modes are described

below.

4.7 Communication Connection

It is recommended to use a STP communication cable, and please refer to the table below for

selection of RS485 communication cable.

2. The RS485 communication connector has the parts as shown in below:
