6. Power supply
Use the charger only with a power supply that complies with the specification of
this device (see point 2 - Technical data
). When supplying power via the DC coaxial
socket, ensure that the polarity matches the device specifications.
Incorrect polar-
ity may damage the device!
7. Commissioning
Take the device out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Connect
the supplied power cable to a properly installed power socket and to the battery
charger. You can then insert the desired type of battery into the charger.
Caution!
Charge only rechargeable batteries. Please do not use non-rechargeable
batteries!
The LED status indicator begins to flash as soon as a battery is inserted. If all three
LEDs start glowing continuously, then the charging process is completed. Ensure
that the maximum charging current of the charger for Li-ion is 1000mA for up to
2 batteries and 500mA for 3 to 4 batteries. Standard batteries, such as NiMH and
NiCd, are always charged using 500 mA.
8. Cleaning and care
Disconnect the device from the mains and make sure that it is not carrying any
current. Wipe it using a dry and soft cloth. Please do not use aggressive cleaning
agents.
9. Safety instructions and liability disclaimer
Never try to open the device to carry out repairs or conversions. Avoid contact
with mains voltages. Do not short-circuit the product. The device is not certified
for use in the open air; only use it in dry conditions. Protect it from high humidity,
water and snow. Keep it away from high temperatures. Do not subject the de

vice to sudden changes in temperature or heavy vibration as this might damage
electronic components. Examine the device for damage before using it. The unit
should not be used if it has received an impact or has been damaged in any other
way. Please observe national regulations and restrictions. Do not use the device
