Control Solution Trouble Shooting
If your control solution testing is out of range (too high or too low), it may be
caused by the following:

• Wrong brand of Control
Solution being used
• Expired or contami-
nated control solution
• Damaged Test Strip.
• Improper coding of the
Meter
• Meter malfunction
• Control solution not at
room temperature
• Make sure you are using Contrex™ Plus Con-
trol Solution (Level 1 or Level 2).
• Make sure the testing environment is between
10˚C to 40˚C
(50˚F~104˚F).
• Check if the code number of the Meter and the
test strip package match. If not, See Coding
the Meter on page 13 .
• Check the expiration and open bottle date on all
Control Solution and Test Strips and repeat the
test using a new Test Strip. If the result is still
out of range, use a new bottle of control solu-
tion and retest.
