Loading Botanical Material
2.6.1.
Material to be extracted is loaded directly into the extraction vessel. The supplied funnel
can be used to help minimize spillage.
2.6.1.1. Typically, botanicals perform best in CO

extractions when ground to a particle
size of about 200 µin, roughly the consistency of coffee grounds.
2.6.1.2. Any amount of material can be loaded into the Extraction Vessel – the vessel
does not have to be full in order to operate correctly.
2.6.1.3. Use caution not to overfill the vessel. The vessel plug sits down inside the tube
and seals on the inner surface. Overloading can cause vessel not to seal or
damage the cup seal.
2.6.2.
Gentle compression or packing can be used to increase the amount of material loaded
into the vessel. However, heavy compaction should be avoided because it may cause
clogging during the extraction process.

Closing Extraction Vessel
2.7.1.
Ensure all surfaces are clean and free of debris.
2.7.2.
Check the cup seal on the plug for any visible damage or defects. Replace as
necessary.
2.7.2.1. The cup seal does not require any lubrication.
