11.1 Power Supply PCB Interwiring
Looking at the slide on the previous page:
Connect the Blue and Yellow wires from the Mains Secondary to the Power Supply PCB
AC/HT – this is the 275 AC which creates the B+ (HT) DC voltages. The orientation does not
matter – the Blue and Yellow wires can go to either connection.
Connect the Choke Black wires to the Power Supply L1/AFC. The orientation does not matter
– either Black Choke wire can go to either connection.
Connect the Yellow wires of the Output Transformers to the B+ (HT) on the Power Supply
PCB.
Connect a Red wire from the B+ (HT) on the Power Supply PCB to B+ (HT) on the ECF80/EL34
PCB.
Connect a Green wire from the GND on the Power Supply PCB to the GND on the left side of
the ECF80/EL34 PCB as shown on the slide
11.2 ECF80/EL34 PCB to 12AU7 Input Buffer PCB Interwiring
In order to keep wires away from the heat of the tubes and to improve the aesthetics of the
build, route the wires that connect to the ECF80/EL34 under the board. You'll probably have to
figure out which wiring order works best for you. This is not an easy part of the build. Take
your time, be careful and patient. Take a break if you need to.
Looking at the slide on the previous page, make the following connections from the ECF80/EL34
PCB to the 12AU7 Input Buffer PCB:
Connect a Red wire from the left pad of R9-2 on the ECF80/EL34 PCB to the 12AU7 Input
Buffer PCB HT/250V – this is where we pick off the HT from (high tension DC voltage) to
power the 12AU7 Input Buffer PCB.
Connect the Blue and Yellow filament wires from the 6V3 3A AND LOOP OUT on the
ECF80/EL34 PCB to the 2 F points on the 12AU7 Input Buffer PCB. The orientation does not
matter – the Blue and Yellow wires can go to either connection.
Connect 2 Red wires from CH/1-O/P and CH/2-O/P on the 12AU7 Input Buffer PCB to the
INPUT LEFT and INPUT RIGHT on the ECF80/EL34 PCB.
Connect a Green wire from the GND on the 12AU7 Input Buffer PCB to the GND on the right
side of the ECF80/EL34 PCB as shown on the slide.
