Introduction
Landmark Cinema Quick Setup Guide
Place all of the controlled devices (TVs, VCRs, DVD players, etc.) in the desired
locations, or at least as close as possible to their final locations.
Place all of the Landmark Cinema devices in the desired locations (or at least as
close as possible). It is not necessary for all Landmark Cinema devices to be placed
together, although it may be more convenient to group them in a rack or
entertainment center.
Double-check your device placement plan, since it is more costly and difficult to
make changes once the wiring has been made up.
Mapping Out the Wiring
Before buying and running any wire or cable, map out which IR output ports will
be used to control the various IR-controlled devices in the system, and note the
PhastLink cabling requirements.
Figure 7 will help you map the wiring to the IR emitters. Make sure you use the
correct emitter type (e.g., Xantech, Niles) for the device you are controlling.
Generally speaking, if the IR-controlled device has an IR window on the front of
the device, it may use something like a Xantech 282 IR emitter. If the device
receives IR commands via an RCA jack on the back of the unit, it may use a Xantech
282 3.5mm-to-RCA emitter. 1/8-inch wired IR mini jacks are the most typical
connection type.
Note
It does not matter if the IR
output port is on the PMB-
TCC Television Control
Center or the PLC-IROUT IR
Output Card in the PMB-CF2
Mini-Cardframe. All IR output
ports have the same
capabilities.
