6. A FUNCTION LIST window and a HELP window (Figure 18) will be displayed
ready for you to start your Hand Control function list. Use the up and down ar-
rows to move the highlight bar to the function number; initially, position 1 will
be highlighted.

Press RETURN to select the position for entry of a function name. The position
number highlight will change. Also, a blinking cursor will appear letting you
know you can enter characters.
8. Type in the name—up to 20 characters—according to your function list and press
return. A WAITING FOR FUNCTION window will be displayed. If the IRIS unit
is not communicating properly with the computer, then IRLIBX will continue to
wait for the incoming signal.

After capturing the first function on the IRIS unit, press the SEND key on the
IRIS. If no function is captured, reconfirm that your connections and settings are
correct and retry by pressing ESC and repeating step 7. Refer to the
IRIS User’s
Manual for a more detailed description on the steps needed to capture IR.
10. A LOADING THE FUNCTION window is displayed briefly during the send pe-
riod and then replaced by an OK FUNCTION WAS LOADED window
(Figure 19). Pressing any key, as indicated in the window, positions the highlight
bar over the next function list number.
