Cleaning & Maintenance
The
AR5
refractometer is designed for continuous operation, but regular maintenance is advised. Please
remove the liquid from the sample chamber when not used for an extended period of time. Rinse the sam-
ple chamber with a large amount of distilled water and blow it dry for approximately 2 minutes.
Maintenance Intervals
It is appropriate to disconnect the power supply to clean the prism. To ensure safe operation of the device,
it is advisable to send them in for service every two years to get the best performance guaranteed.
Maintenance Works
The best way to inspect the device is to disconnect it from the power supply first. It is then advised to clean
all parts of the device, especially the sample chamber. The sample chamber must be absolutely devoid
of contaminants. Now the instrument can be checked with distilled water and calibrated, if necessary, at
room temperature. If the deviations are higher than the specified values, please contact Reichert support.
