3 Description
3.1 The Need for Air Purging
In order to ensure that the optical system remains clean, air must be supplied
continuously through the purge unit. Though negative pressure within a stack
may draw sufficient air through the air purge nozzle to prevent a build up of dust
and fumes, a positive pressure air supply is recommended in all installations.
Air blowers supply filtered air to protect the optical surfaces from dirt and
overheating. Optional pressure switches may be fitted to indicate insufficient air
flow.
3.2 Blower unit configuration
The standard configuration of the plate-mounted blower (illustrated), comprises a
stainless steel baseplate fitted with:

Air Filter Unit
• Rain Cap (fitted onto Air Filter)
• Blower Motor (as ordered)
• Interconnecting hoses
• Standard adaptor
