7.1.2 Adjusting the Grace and Comp Times
Exit Terminal rates will often contain a grace and/or comp time. The grace
period allows a parker to enter and exit the facility as long as they exit before
the set amount of time.
For example, if a grace timer is set to five minutes, a parker could enter the
facility at 5:00pm and get out for free at 5:04pm. Once over the designated time
(5:05pm in the provided example), the parker would need to pay to exit the lot.
Comp time is similar to grace time in that it is often used as relief for the parker.
The comp timer in an Exit Terminal determines the amount of time a parker gets
as relief.
For example, if the comp time is set to five minutes and a parker stays 1h3m,
the Exit Terminal will see that the parker stayed for a total of 58m.
