ONNECTING THE

OX TO THE
TRIPOWER
X31
HE
THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE TRIPOWER X31 HE AND THE BATTERY BOX MUST BE MADE WITH THE
DEVICES POWERED OFF AND UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS
TRIPOWER X31 HE POWER-OFF PROCEDURE:
Turn off all devices connected to the TRIPOWER X31 HE or use the remote bypass option (if installed).
Turn off the TRIPOWER X31 HE following the relevant power-off procedure (see the “USE” section of the “Powering off
the TRIPOWER X31 HE” paragraph).
Open all the isolators and fuse holders present in the TRIPOWER X31 HE.
Isolate the TRIPOWER X31 HE completely from the electricity network by opening all the external protective devices
situated on the input and output lines
Wait a few minutes before proceeding to work on the TRIPOWER X31 HE.
Remove the terminal cover of the TRIPOWER X31 HE (see "Operations to access the TRIPOWER X31 HE/Battery Box
terminals).
CONNECTING THE BATTERY BOX:
Check that the battery voltage of the Battery Box corresponds to that allowed by the TRIPOWER X31 HE (check the
data plate on the Battery Box and the manual of the TRIPOWER X31 HE)
IMPORTANT:
make sure that the fuse holders of the TRIPOWER X31 HE and the Battery Box are open.
Remove the terminal cover of the Battery Box (see "Operations to access the UPS/Battery Box terminals).
Connect the earth terminals of the TRIPOWER X31 HE and the Battery Box.
Connect the terminals to the TRIPOWER X31 HE and the Battery Box:
- terminals marked with the
+
symbol with the red cable
- terminals marked with the
N
symbol with the blue cable
- terminals marked with the
–
symbol with the black cable
respecting the correspondence indicated by the symbols print on the terminal cover of the Battery Box and the
TRIPOWER X31 HE.
Reposition the terminal covers removed previously.
CHECKING INSTALLATION:
Insert the fuses in the SWBATT fuse holders of the Battery Box.
Close the SWBATT fuse holders of the Battery Box and the TRIPOWER X31 HE.
Carry out the TRIPOWER X31 HE power-on procedure described in this manual.
After about 30 sec., check that the TRIPOWER X31 HE is working properly: simulate a black-out by opening the SWIN
input isolator of the TRIPOWER X31 HE. The load must continue to be powered, the “battery power” LED must light up
on the control panel of the TRIPOWER X31 HE, and the latter will emit a beep at regular intervals. When the SWIN input
isolator is closed again, the UPS must resume operation on mains power.
