Danger from UV radiation and explosion of the illuminant
It is forbidden to operate the searchlight if the covers are removed or the protective
glass is missing. The illuminant creates dangerous UV radiation which can cause
severe injury to skin and eyes unless the corresponding protective equipment is
used.
Without eye protection, never look directly into the beam of the illuminant when it
has been ignited.
A defective, spent, or misshapen illuminant should be replaced immediately by a
qualified technician. The abovementioned faults increase the danger of an
illuminant explosion.
Danger from falling objects
For the correct use as a permanent installation, it should be ensured that a solid
sub-construction is available at the point of use; this should correspond to the
requirements in the specification for the searchlight in terms of size, weight and
safety clearances to be maintained.
The support is to be mounted to this sub-construction with four suitable fastenings.
Throughout the installation, the working area is to be closed off, and it should be
ensured that nobody is present in the danger area.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage occurring as a result of failure to
observe these instructions, and the claims under guarantee and warranty are
nullified.
