x330 Series Installation Guide for Standalone Switches

55

The illustrations in the procedure show the x330-28GTX Switch. The

procedure is the same for all x330 Switches.

Note

Bumper feet are required for tabletop installation. They promote

cooling by allowing airflow beneath the switch.

To install the switch on a table, perform the following procedure:

1. Verify that the selected site is suitable for the unit by reviewing

“Reviewing Safety Precautions” on page 40 and “Choosing a Site for

the Switch” on page 44.

2. Verify that the table is strong enough to support the weight of the

switch.

3. Verify that the accessory kit came with all the appropriate items. Refer

to “Unpacking the Switch” on page 46.

4. Lift the switch from the shipping box and place it upside down on the

table.

5. Attach the four bumper feet to the bottom corners of the switch using

the four 3x4.5mm screws and a Phillips-head screwdriver. Refer to

Figure 25.

Figure 25. Attaching the Bumper Feet

6. Turn the switch over, placing it on the bumper feet.

7. Go to Chapter 8, “Verifying the Switch” on page 95.
