10. Plug in your data cables to the hub and the network.
The Link indicator should illuminate for each connected port on the
Slave module.
If one or more of the ports are in use on the Slave module, the
Activity indicator will illuminate.
Your AT-3624TRS repeater is now active in the chassis, serving as a
non-managed hub.
Installing the AT-3624TRS in a managed hub configuration
The following procedure details how to install an AT-3624TRS in a
managed hub configuration in an AT-C36RS4-1R1 rackmount chassis.
This example assumes the following:
❑
You are working with a four-slot rackmount chassis
❑
Three of the four slots in the chassis will be populated
❑
A Master has been installed in slot one
❑
A Backup has been installed in slot two
❑
You will install a Slave in slot three, leaving slot four empty
1.
Remove the interrepeater bus dust cover on the back panel of the
module before installing the unit in a rackmount chassis.
2.
Remove the rubber feet from the Slaves.
3.
Reinstall the screws once the rubber feet are off.
Attention
After removing the rubber feet, it is important to reinstall the screws or the
module will expand. (Also see Chapter 2, “Hardware Installation” on
page 7.)
4.
Attach the chassis guide/handle assembly, with the screws provided
with the chassis, to each side of the Slave. Make sure the handles are
aligned with the front of the module.
5.
Remove the blank faceplate/air-dam assembly from the slot (slot three)
where you will be installing the Slave.
6.
Slide the Slave along the chassis guide in the rackmount chassis
without seating it in the backplane connector.
7.
Plug in the Slave’s power cord.
8.
Check to see if the Power indicator illuminates.
9.
Check to see that the Slave performs a self-test.
The Slave will temporarily illuminating all port LEDs in sequence,
beginning with port 1 and continuing with port 2, port 3 and so
forth. The self-test recurs until a port is connected.
