Control I/O
Validate Connections
You need to verify that the controller can communicate with the devices that you
have just configured.
To validate connections, perform this procedure.
1.
Determine if communication has been established with the devices.
If a warning symbol

Then
Appears over the I/O Configuration folder
The controller cannot communicate with the
device. Go to
step 2
.
Does
not
appear over the I/O Configuration
folder
The controller can communicate with the device
and connections are valid.
2.
Identify any faults in communication modules by working down through
the I/O configuration tree.
In this example, faults occurred at the remote 1756-CNB module and the
I/O modules added below it.
3.
Identify the fault codes, specifically the fault at the module that is highest
in the I/O tree.
4.
Right-click the module and choose Properties.
5.
From the Module Properties dialog box, click the Connection tab.
6.
Identify the fault in the Module Fault area.
