8.2 Repair a puncture
You can repair a puncture yourself. If you are not able to do this, have a bicycle repairer repair the
puncture or replace the tire. You can best have a puncture repaired by a bicycle repairer.
This instruction has been described for the front wheels. Carry out the same actions to repair a
puncture in a rear wheel.
Preparations
1. Dismount the wheel.
2. Check the tire and remove any cause of the puncture, for example small stones, pieces of glass
(be careful not to cut yourself) or a nail.
Step 1
Front wheel
1. Remove the valve cap (A).
Rear wheel
1. Remove the valve cap (A).
2. Remove the nut (B).

Step 2
1. Press the edge of the tire towards the center of
the rim.
2. Place the first tire lever (A) between the tire and
the rim. Do this at a place well away from the
valve cap.
Caution: Look out for tire levers
that may come off.
3. Secure the tire levers behind a spoke.
4. Secure the second tire lever further behind the
tire and behind a spoke.
5. Secure the third tire lever another two spokes
further.
6. Loosen the rest of the tire by hand and check the
inside of the tire for sharp objects. Be careful not
to cut yourself.
7. Remove the sharp objects you have found.
