Starting and Driving
CRT Exhaust Engine
Fuel Requirement
Vehicles fitted with a CRT exhaust
system (Continuously Regenerating
Trap)
MUST be run on low sulphur
diesel fuel (such as City diesel) with a
maximum sulphur content of 0.5%.
Normal Starting Procedure
• Ensure the parking brake is in
the ON position.
• Select neutral gear.
• Turn master switch on.
• Turn ignition switch to RUN and
WAIT for the yellow WAIT-TO-
START light to go out.
The warning lamps will cycle
through a set initialisation
sequence, from bulb test to the
wait to start light going out last,
this takes a few seconds.
• If the engine oil pressure
warning light does not go out
within 15 seconds of starting,
stop the engIne.
• Check that the battery charge
warning light goes out.
• Avoid idling the engine for
excessive periods - more than
10 minutes.
• DO NOT PRESS any selector
buttons on the control whilst
starting.
Shutting Down
After operation allow the engine to idle
for 3 - 5 minutes before shutting off to
allow the oil and coolant to remove heat
from many parts, especially the
turbocharger. To stop the engine, turn
the ignition switch to
OFF .
CAUTION
Do not operate the starter for
more than 30 Seconds
continuously. Wait 2 minutes
between each attempt to start.
If the engine oil pressure
warning light does not go out
within 15 seconds of starting.
Stop the engine.
NOTE
Allow the engine to Idle for
3 - 5 minutes before
operating under load.
