RECOMMENDATION
In areas with high levels of soiling we recommend
carrying out inspections and cleaning more often than
at a yearly interval.
The same applies to areas with high dust levels, for
example, especially near:
large facilities where animals are kept
grain handling areas
plants with high leaf, seed or pollen counts
facilities/systems with high dust emissions
If more frequent cleaning is necessary aleo solar
recommends contracting a specialised company that
will properly clean the photovoltaic generator without
stepping on the modules.
10.5.
Repairs
10.5.1.
Modules
Only contract professionals authorised by aleo solar to repair
modules in order to avoid loss of the manufacturer warranty.
A defect solar module may cause yield losses as well as other
consequential damages. Should a repair of an aleo module be
necessary, please first contact aleo solar Customer Services
(see Ch. 3.2, 'Product support'). Do not under any circum-
stances repair an aleo module yourself.
An improper repair may cause damages whose effects may
first appear years later, e.g. in a failure of the electrical
insulation. This can be deadly. Therefore, report any
necessary repair work as quickly as possible.
Before carrying out maintenance work on aleo modules,
switch off the current of the module string or, if necessary,
the entire generator. Please observe the warnings and
guidelines in Ch. 6.2.2, 'Electrical precautionary measures'.
10.5.2.
System parts
Only commission authorised professionals to repair other
system parts (e.g. substructure, combiner box) or contact aleo
solar Customer Services directly (see Ch. 3.2, 'Product
support').
10.6.
Potential Induced Degradation (PID)
NOTICE
In rare cases, photovoltaic modules may be affected
by potential induced degradation (PID) as a result of
the culmination of various unfavourable
circumstances.
If you have followed the guidelines and require-
ments in this manual during planning and instal-
lation, you have minimised the likelihood that your
system could be affected by PID. This applies to
keeping the system voltage low, operating as cool
and dry as possible, as well as earthing of the
generator, if necessary.
If you have reason to suspect that your system is
affected by PID, please contact aleo solar Customer
Services (see Ch. 3.2, 'Product support'). They can
provide further information on how to carry out any
necessary diagnosis, how to optimise operating
conditions, or how to perform the regeneration.
NOTICE
If your inverter allows the earthing of the module
strings, earth the negative

of the
module strings. See also Ch. 5.12.8, 'Inverter
connection'.

This applies to all currently manufactured modules, as these
have cells with p substrate.
