• Attach the earth clamp of the earth clamp and cable assembly (13) to the
work piece to be cut and ensure a good electrical contact.
• Connect the yellow connector of the plasma torch assembly (12) to the
plasma torch connector (8) and tighten.
• Connect the 2 pin connector of the plasma torch assembly (12) to (7) Plasma
torch switch connector and tighten.
You are now ready to commence cutting.
CAUTION!
Do not operate the plasma cutter without the air supply
connected and turned on. Failure to do this will result in serious
damage to the plasma torch and void your warranty.
7.2 STARTING A CUT
WARNING!
Make sure you are wearing suitable clothes and footwear,
gloves, gloves and eye protection before using the plasma cutter.
WARNING!
Plasma cutting emits fumes which can be dangerous.
Make sure that the work area is well ventilated.
Note:
Before cutting the actual workpiece, do a test the cut on a piece of scrap
to obtain the desire cut.
• Connect the mains plug and turn on the mains supply and turn on the
compressor / air supply.
• Turn the plasma cutter ON with the power ON/OFF switch (9).
• Select a suitable cutting current for the job at hand using the current
adjustment control (4).
• Line up the plasma torch with the desired cut on the work piece.
• Make sure that the tip of the plasma torch is in contact with the work piece.
NOTE:
The plasma arc will not start unless the tip is in contact with the work
piece.
