Fitting and removing the battery pack
1. To install the battery pack (9) to the tool, align the raised portion of the
battery pack (9) with the grooves on the bottom of the drill/driver, and
with your thumb on the battery release tab (16), slide it firmly into the
handle until the battery is secure in position (Fig A). Release your thumb
from the battery release tab (16).
2. To remove the battery pack from the tool, press the battery pack release
button (16) and slide the battery pack completely out of tool handle
(Fig B).
3. When applying the charger adaptor (10) onto the battery pack (9), slide
the charger adaptor (10) onto the battery pack (9), whilst aligning the
tabs on the battery pack (9) with the tabs on the charger adaptor (10)
(Fig C).
The charger adaptor (10) will make a snap / click noise when it is
securely aligned.
4. To remove the battery pack (9) from the charger adaptor (10), press the
battery release button (16) and slide the charger adaptor backwards
/ outwards, opposite to the direction it was installed into the charger
adaptor (10).
Battery charging
IMPORTANT. Before attempting to charge the battery, check the charger
adaptor (10), plug pack charger (11), and the battery to ensure the charging
equipment matches the battery supplied. The components are all labelled
with component numbers.
Check the input voltage on the charger label and ensure the input voltage
indicates 100-240V ac 50-60 Hz.
CAUTION! The rechargeable battery may not be fully charged on leaving
the factory. Charge the rechargeable battery for approx 3-5 hours before first
use, or until fully charged.
If the battery pack (9) does not accept a charge when first plugged in and
connected, ie the red light does not come on, the battery pack is most likely
fully charged from the factory.
In this case it is suggested to use or run the drill for a few minutes and then re
connect to the charger. The red charging light should come on showing the
charging cycle is working correctly.
CAUTION! The working temperature of the charging operation is 0°C to 45°C.
1. Connect the power supply from the plug pack charger (11) to the charger
adaptor (10) via plugging the plug from the plug pack charger (11) into the
charger adaptor (10) housing.
Plug in the plug pack charger (11) and switch on at the power supply. The
light on the plug pack charger (11) will highlight “green” to indicate there is
power (Fig D).
2. Align the battery (9) with the charger adaptor (10). Insert the battery pack
and slide it firmly into position (Fig C). The light on the plug pack charger
will highlight “red” to indicate the battery is being charged (Fig E).
The battery will be ready for use up to approximately 3-5 hours.
When the battery is charged to the correct voltage the red changes to
GREEN indicating the plug pack is still connected to the turned on power
but is NOT charging
NOTE: The power to the charger should be turned off when unattended, with
or without a battery inserted.
