1 Introduction
This manual is for system administrators running OmniTouch Fax
Server in the Linux operating system.
This manual describes the following:
• fax networking concepts and
• hardware and software installation
• installation and operation of advanced components such as the
rasterization services, the XML gateway, mail gateways, etc...
•
user and resource management,
• advanced operations such as configuring inbound auto-routing and
least-cost routing and load balancing.
Default License
When installing OmniTouch Fax Server, on a new system, a default
license is available for evaluation purposes. This demo license
enables one instance of each component and a total of two channels
of any type (T38) in evaluation mode . The default license allows for
100 users and applies a watermark on every fax page.
T38 FaxDrivers
The number of channels is set in the Administration module.
OmniTouch Fax Server permits a maximum of four ports. There are
two settings to configure:

Maximum number of channels
- this represents the total number
of channel objects available for configuring in the Web Administrator
for the given driver. A change of value will be applied only at the
next startup of the corresponding driver.
Preferred number of channels
- this represents the optimal
number of channels the driver should acquire when the system is
fully up and running.
