Configuring the PC that connects to the 8550 WSG

Management Portal

Before you initialize the 8550 WSG Management Portal, you must
connect a PC to the management port and configure its IP address to
be on the same subnet as the 8550 WSG.

Procedure 3-10 To configure the 8550 WSG IP address
on the PC that connects to the 8550 WSG Management
Portal

Connect a crossover cable from the Ethernet port on the PC to the
management port on the 8550 WSG.

Configure the PC LAN settings with the IP address of 192.168.1.2
and subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

Type the username admin.

Type the password admin.

Click on the Login button.

The 8550 WSG Management Portal appears with the
Administration > Node Status panel open.

From the Configuration menu, choose Networking. The
Configuration > Networking window appears.

Click on the Interface Settings tab button.

Choose Port 1: Management and set the IPv4 Address and Subnet
Mask.

Click on the Routing tab button.

Note —

The 8550 WSG comes with a default IP address

(192.168.1.1) pre-configured on the 8550 WSG. You must enter a
different address on your PC in step
